Happy Cultural Day

Tomorrow is another holiday and I get to sleep in and I am not sure why it is a holiday. They love holidays here there is one almost every two weeks. So many I'll pop in Mario Tennis and play that for a bit. A bit addicting it is.
I read the craziest story today, apprantly Elephants are on the rampage in India. They are getting drunk and destroying villages and killing people. It is actually a serious on going event. People in India are brewing rice wine or soemthing right now and the Elephants break in an drink it and then go on a drunken rampage. So the Indians have gone killed about 200 elephants.
And what is with the kids at school and their games? There's one game where the little kids, 1st and 2nd graders go and poke you in the butt. Well actually they have dead on aim and get a direct hit every time. It is so freakin annoying that I almost tore of a kid's arm. But they are just as stupid when they are leaning backwards on their chairs. I will at least see kid a day slip backwards and fall. They crack me up.
Finally there is this one guy in the town who when he sees me always goes, "Hey Mac, Chikago Cubs, Yeah." I just yell "yeah, Chicago Cubs" back at him.

I forgot to mention that yesteday I played dodgeball too. I played dodgeball and it was a load of fun even though it was only with 8 other kids and we had one ball. It was unfair too. The teacher was a strong guy and wipped the ball at his kids and pegged with with a slap and each time leaving a nice red mark. Some kids even cried. I didn't thow the ball that hard. The teacher and I were on one team with 3 other kids. We were against 5 other kids. I just followed the teacher into the gym during my free peroid and asked what was going on today, dodgeball? He said no. But later when was explaining everything to the kids he said they would play dodgeball at the end and everyone cheered. Apparently though if you catch the ball the other person doesn't get out. Still fun.
Tonight I am going to Miyoko's. She is a nice Japanese lady that lives in the nearby city, Gobo. She cooks up an increadible buffett of food for all the ALTs(JET people) in the immediate area. She has been doing this for like 10 years. I think the JET Program was started in 1986. Anywho, at most I met about 10 other ALTs and we talk about classes and stuff. Most people don't have a car so they either take the train or ride their bikes. The bikes that everyone rides are crappy looking girl bikes with baskets. The seats have springs underneath them. Anywho, the dinner is usually a good time. I usually stop and get ice cream at the 31 Flavors at Roman City when I go to Gobo.
I posted more pictures. I added links to new galleries and added photos to existing ones! check it out!

Madison dame

Ahh the marathon never happened it got rained out so I went back to bed, not that I was going to ever run, but just say hi to the Miyamaians. That's the people the live in my town, Miyama-mura. Beautiful mountain village. Aaaah. Which is in Wakayama prefecture. Wakayama= peaceful signing mountains. Anywho I benkioed Japanese for awhile and played some Mario Tennis.
Oh I Friday. Which was cool. I went to this festival practice at night at Sougawa. They play the taiko drums and did some cool rythmic dancing to the beat using the crazy oni looking heads. All the while the children played a tune ont he traditional Japanese flute. I tried these flute. I was able to follow along for a bit, but I have to try again. It was a great night. I got to shot the shit in Japanese and broken English with the older, parents and old folk, and got to see the kids oustide of school. They were really excited to see me. The play/dance that they are practicing is suppose to be 200 years old and Suogawa is suppose to famous for it.
Yesterday, Sunday, I made a trip to Osaka. I visited America Village which had some cool t-shirts and then Den Den town which had every new and cool electronic item. I was planning to go to the Star Wars exhibit because it was Halloween, but I didn't. They had a thing where if you dressed up you got in for free.
Today I wowed my 4th grade class with hang man. I didn't even plan it. I thought that it would be boring and old to them, on the contrary. And I played Hokey Pokey with another class and inlcuded things like, tongue, ear, elbow and butt.
So Happy Halloween and Happy Election Day. My the best man win...
