Good to be the principal.  A cute 26ish travel agent girl came in to offer some current trips and deals.  Solicitors are always welcome at schools.  The principal just went ahead and flirted with her for about 10 minutes.  Good stuff.

Ran my car's battery dry on Monday night.  Left the friggin lights on while at someone's house.  Some o-ba-chan came by to tell me so.  Luckily I parked hood-to-hood with another car.  It was an easy jump.

No classes at Nakatsu chuu today.  Just sitting around.  I made a vitual world tour on Google Earth today.  A really cool program and detailed. Shit, I could even make out my father's car in one of the images.

Fucking hot.  I think the only reason I am compianing about the heat now is that because everyone every day is always saying, 'atsui desune?!?'  Well shit, what do you want me to do about it.   But on the flip side, people here try to conserve energy and aren't always running the air at home or the heat during the winter.  No one has a dryer, everyone air dries their clothes which is nice.  Good enviromentalists.

Back to posting

I've negelected this blog, but I've been wanting to post for a long time. Should have done it a few months ago. But recently I've been achi-kochi and haven't posted. I;ll try and post some more pictures too. I have ton now. Plus I have recently aquired broadband internet. They finally brought it out to Miyama and then I got wired up. So I have no excuse to not post.

Recently it has been so hot. But also very humid. So humid that when I drive I usually have to have the air on to keep the windows from fogging up. And bugs are a problem too. Cockroaches everywhere. In the last two weeks I must have killed abotu 4 or 5, big suckers too. Need to clean my place though. Plus I need to clean the outside. The ouside of my house looks kind of sad with weeds, dirt, rocks, rusty metal and some dead flowers. A nice picture.
Schoolwise, classes are good and fun. I have been using SuperStep at my ele. schools and they like it. One great game is 'walking in the jungle' which i've turned into a race/tag game. Last week one kid got a bloody during the game. I had some good videos and photos but my camea's card just freaked out and I had to erase 800MB of photo's and videos, arrgg.
The past few weekends have been good. Nothing too exciting. A few weekends ago I did have a great weekend when I visited my old high school friend, Brian Lee. He is a Korean national and lives in Seoul. So I took Friday off and with my 3 day weekend I visited him in Seoul and stayed at his place. It was good hanging out time and eating around Seoul. A really relaxing time. Ate some raw ground beef with raw egg called yukke. Good stuff. Korean beer is alright, but the sochu is great and cheap. Like shochu, sochu is the Korean version and costs only $4 for a liter.
Right now I am at Miyama-chu gakkou. I don't have my classes today so I just sort of help out in some classes. Like today during the 3rd grader's Elective class A English class I helped them create English sentences for pictures of there class trip to Tokyo a couple months ago. So also hang out too. Just tried to explain what a 'roly-poly' or 'pill-bug' is to a 2nd grader. I learned the Japanese for the bug yesterday when Mae was trying to throw them up into the classroom on the 2nd floor, but I forgot the word.
Also, last night was Miyoko's again. Every Tuesday night. I pretty much have to go every Tuesday. I got chastized for not calling or showing several weeks ago. As usual we talked about culture differences and our schools and how to spend our free time. A couple travel options have arised since last night. One, to go to India in August, and Two, to go to Austraila at he beginning of January.
I want people to come and visit me so I don't want to blow all 20 days of my nenkyuu to quickly, so it is hard to make plans nowadays.
