Happy Chocolate Eating Day
I received a few chocolate items today, but nothing crazy. It was one crazy weekend though. I am still tired from it. That party on Thursday night ended up well I showed up late because of a Japanese lesson, but I was able to pound a few back and karaoke for 2 hours. I crashed at Joe's place in Inami. He has a pimpin place. It is even more pimpin because he has the internet and an X-box. Which means he can play X-box live and games like Halo 2 online. I miss the Star Wars Battlefront game already.
Joe's party was jsut right, not a ton of people, but enough to have a good time. Only 4 ALT's orginally, Derrick showed up later for an hour or so at the karaoke place.
After waking up with a headache at Joe's the next more I went to return some movies to Way in Gobo and ran into Devon, who was with the night before but did not go karaoking. He showed me a gorcery store with super cheap food. It was a nice little find. A box of 'Sugar Flakes' (Frosted Flakes) for 89 cents. Sounds tasty, eh?
I did have to head back early so as to meet Kitayama sensei who was picking me up at my house to go play pool at 4:00pm. While I waited I watched Buckaroo Banzai. I use to love that movie as a kid, but now it is some weird beast of a movie. Still fun to watch, but I don't about its quality anymore. So Kitayama showed up and brought his two kids too, Shinsui who is 8 and Akane who is 4. They came into my place and started looking around. I didn't know how to entertain them. They kind of just snooped all around. The found some chocolate I had and just started eating it. So I finally busted out Mario Tennis and it was a hit. Shinsui wasn't sow great but it was his first time. We then left and went to Roman City to play some arcade games, namely Outrun 2 which has a cool power sliding feature, before we headed back to the house for some grub. No grub there, and I was starving. We chilled in the house a bit and got a few games of GT4 in before me and the fam left for a nearby Okonomiyaki place and eat this stuff you cook at your table on the grill. It was darn good stuff. We then went to play pool. I think I am getting worse though. At one point this old lady came up to our table, which was all the way in the back of the room, and watched me hit the ball and then said 'good job' and left. That was bizarre.
Saturday was suppose to be spent at the Planetarium. I did go with the the Kyotosensei from my Junior high. It was cloudy so there was no star watching that night, but I did see one of those star shows inside the domed room with the 'ant' looking machine in the middle. It talked about Orion and some constellations, but then it was so nice a dark in there that I started to drift off into a lite sleep. Afterwards I went to his for dinner. THe planterium is actually apart of a park, Cosmo park. Also in the park ais a squirrel zoo. It is small, but there it is, a large cage outside with a bunch of squirrels in it. I think that they were Chinese squirrels too. So next month I will be able to see Saturn from the park.
On Sunday I made an exscursion. I drove all the way to Wakayama-city, which isn't really a big deal, but it was far. My destination was Palm City. It is one of those Okuwa type of large malls. This one had a TRU. TRU in Japan sells much better toys than the US ones. I tried to buy the PS2/GT4 racing pack but my card didn't work for some reason. I nearly lost my phone there under an arcade game and I dropped my camera again, which is almsot dead now, but is still fine. I have only had it since October, and it was expensive. I made it back to Gobo to have dinner with an ALT that is sick. He is going back to America for a little while. So that was the long weekend. Next week will be longer for Tokyo will have to handle the Big Mac.
